Are you doing this inside of Cognos / BIRT / other?...we do our reporting with Cognos, including log entries, and in this use case I would use an embedded list. Incidentally, we tackled the business requirement a bit differently: instead of having "additional" log entries to embody corrections, we instead enabled auditing on the PLUSGSHFTLOGENTRY table and then created an Edit Log button (uses Action automation script) to allow users to "reopen" the existing log entry to make corrections. Obviously, audit entries / history could be reported on if needed...
