I have a work order with an attachment that has its origins in the SR application, on approval (via workflow) an email is sent to contractor with attachment on the communications template but I want to also include the attachment added through SR application.  Is there a configurable option to associate the SR application with the Work Order communications template so that the linked SR attachment can be attached to outbound email, thanks

The ability to attach files automatically to a communication template isn't something I've used very often so I've never had to try and do this exact scenario. Something that might work is on the attachments in SR, try and set the COPYLINKTOWO attribute to 1. When this is set on the attachment and the "Copy Doclinks to Work Order on Save" is enabled in the System Settings dialog in the Organization application, attachments that are associated to supporting records (such as Asset, Location, or in this case SR) where that flag is set should get created as a document directly against the WO. That should enable the out of the box functionality to work.

Thanks Steven, the flag is set to 1 and it does "copy" the document across but the host application is defined as SR not Work Order.  Tried setting the default value on the DOCLINKS table to 1 as well but it still doesn't set the DOCLINKS application as Work Order, keeps it as SR.  Appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback though

Make sure you've set the flag on the COPYLINKTOWO attribute on the DOCLINK record

From there, I saw a weird issue (probably worth opening a case on) where until I saved the record again the doclinks weren't copied over. But it then shows that attachment as an attachment in the right application.

    Hi Steven, thanks.

Yes, bit strange, I've been able to replicate what you've indicated which is okay as it fits the use-case, the work order needs to be edited and saved in the first instance after which the attachment copies across as a WO doclink

    Thanks again

    Cheers
