    Webinar | Tomorrow July, 28 @ 2PM ET.
    Register: https://maximo.projetech.com/top-tips-for-end-users/

Maximo end users face numerous changes now including new responsibilities in addition to old ones, remote work requirements, and lack of on-going training to keep them current.  Of the more than 200 core applications, the largest group of users will be end users who access less than 30 of those applications, and update fewer than 15.

There are many things in common that work the same way in each application, as well as a few nuances. Today, we will dig into a few popular topics such as defaults (application and query); navigation enhancements; querying: list tab, advanced search, where clause, saving, and creating it as a result set on your start center; statuses and the historyflag; select field assistants and more. Here are a few short videos to get you started: https://tinyurl.com/MaximoEndUserShorts

    Christopher,
If possible during this discussion, can you speak to attachments? What is the best way to keep attachment libraries organized and free of clutter. If an attachment is a jpg can it default display in an inventory or equipment record?

Alfred, Good idea, but why wait. Let's get some discussion going on here now. Plus, I think there are some changes with attachments in 7.6.1.2, and I don't want to confuse the issue. First, let's separate your questions in two.

Both Item Master and Asset applications allow an image to be displayed on their main tab. This is referenced in the IMGLIB object, where attachments are referenced through DOCLINKS. Attachments also support links and more filetypes; Images are restricted to gif and jpg.

So, if an attachment is something you want as the image to default display for that Item or Asset, currently, it will have to be added separately, as there is no option on the attachment to make it the primary image for the item/asset. Can something custom be done? Probably.

As to freeing you from clutter, you will want to have instruction on what can go into the library for use elsewhere, and may need to consider who has access to upload.

Perhaps someone else in the community can respond on how they have managed this in terms of standards implemented.
