  • 1.  How is Targetstartdate and TargetCompdates are calculated for Wo being generated from Route.

    Hello All,

We are getting an error when Wo is being generated from Route.
error says: the start date must be before the finish date.
This is happening for a particular Job plan.
It seems the target dates /scheduled dates issue.
Can any one tell me how these are calculated if WO is being generated from Route?
FYI  our route has on route stop with location and jobplan same as jobplan on the route detais
the route stops will become Child WOs.

Is this error preventing the PM to generate work orders or is this on the WO itself?

    Hi Biblab,

I don't have the error, I was asking Meghana where the error was popping up.

Whilst I understand you are experiencing an error, there is one thing that is incorrect.

Incorrect: Applying a route has nothing to do with scheduled dates as there is nothing on the route that puts data into those fields.

Missing information: Do the JPs have a duration, and start and Finish constraint offset.  How are the route stops being applied?

Assumption: You are applying a route to a work order, not applying a PM with a route and the PM has/has not got a job plan.

So the base calculation is route stops have a job plan with a duration and are being added as Child Work Orders.  So it will be for the child work order, today's date and time = target start date, and today's date and time + duration = target finish date.

Also, if the route stops have no job plans, but it comes from a PM that has a Job Plan with a duration, see the above sentence, but the dates are set from the next due date calculation.

Where there is no duration mentioned, then the start and end dates will be the same.

So, as the others have said, we need a bit more information....and what have you don't to capture the fault in the logs?  Do you any automations script/triggers/customizations that mess around with date?

I myself have never had your issue, so I'm guessing.
