    Posted 01-06-2021 12:54

The change in work and communication log from 7.6.0.8 to 7.6.1.1 in work order tracking-

This has caused an up roar with our users they are complaining that the logs are hard to see and read.
Wondering if other users are mentioning  to support personnel.

Below are examples of what it looked like in 7.6.0.8 and what it looks like in 7.6.1.1

7.6.0.8 work and communication log in work order tracking
    work and communication log

7.6.1.1 work log in work order tracking
    Work and communication log

Looking for suggestions on how to address to stay with in our support contract parameters.
Have found articles on how to edit the xml rich text, these are not supported by IBM.
    Suggestions are welcomed.

note * Opened a case and were told to open a RFE - this is still and uncommitted candidate.
Also contacted support manager and their suggestion was getting people to vote and comment on it to raise awareness to the issue.

    RFE link -

    Diane

We have had clients report the same thing. To address it adjusted the extended.css similar to what is descried in this IBM article: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/IV75207

Once deployed to your Maximo install this does required an ear build and deploy. We have had success deploying this directly to the deployed ear and then restarting the system.

    Suggested Change:
    File:
    applications\maximo\maximouiweb\webmodule\webclient\skins\iot18\css\extended.css
    Addition:
    #dijitEditorBody { font-size: 15px !important }

Just incase others are following and are attempting to change the css files.

When i edited the CSS file in applications\maximo\maximouiweb\webmodule\webclient\skins\iot18\css\extended.css
rebuilt and redeployed the ear file it did not solve the issue of the font.
the changes were ignored, so I opened up a case with IBM.

The result was a previous APAR#IJ25347 is out there for the issue
    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/IJ25347

There is an IFIX for 7.6.1.1 link is below.

    https://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/swg/selectFixes?parent=ibm%7ETivoli&product=ibm/Tivoli/IBM+Maximo+Asset+Management&release=7.6.1.1&platform=All&function=fixId&fixids=7.6.1.1-TIV-MBS-IF013&includeSupersedes=0&source=fc

Will be installing the ifix and testing the changes to the css files again.
    updates to follow.

    Thanks!

    Hi Diane,

Are you using IOT18 skin, from the screen shot it looked like old skin (Tivoli13 or Tivoli09) ? There  are folders for other skins at "applications\maximo\maximouiweb\webmodule\webclient\skins\" where you may want to try to make similar change to extended.css based on Skin that Maximo is using.

    Thanks,

Hi, just a note on my experiences working with Maximo skins, for some changes I had to chase inherited values across multiple style sheets. I usually created a duplicate of one skin (and perhaps the login jsp's) and made changes there (changing the prop value(s)). I don't do that very often though. I found firebug to be quite helpful, also I usually have a WebSphere local dev and test the initial changes live into the deployment files to save some time while fussing...

Thank you all for the suggestions!
Applying the fix pack and editing the extendclass.css files did the trick and the font is much easier to read.

I appreciate the more community.   Enjoy the day!
