I'm interested in this thread as well. We have a team of about 25 techs that maintain a ~1M sf facility, and while *I* can see the benefits of implementing a mobile tool, my manager doesn't, so I need some "ammunition." :) I'd love to hear people's experiences - did it help increase your techs' use of Maximo? Did the accuracy and frequency of their actual entries increase? Did they use the program more in general?
That's what we're struggling with - getting our technicians to reliably and accurately enter their time on work orders, use the communication function to send messages to clients or administrative support staff, utilize asset records, add/view attachments, etc. Most of them try to interact with Maximo as little as possible, on a laptop or desktop computer, at their bench, at the end of their shifts (or even only at the end of the week!) and I'd like to change that.
I believe that giving them access via a tool on a portable device - like their phones which they ALL carry around - can only help increase their engagement, but I'd love to hear about any success or failures that might support or refute that belief.
Any feedback from the group is appreciated. :)
Thanks,
Amy
