MxLoader

Hello all,

When attempting to import Work Logs into the WORKLOG object using MxLoader, I get an error message in the [RESULT] column of: commlog#ownerNull which references a different object (COMMLOG)

I am using the OOB Object Structure MXAPIWORKLOG.

There is no OWNER field in the WORKLOG object, but there is an OWNERID field in the COMMLOG object.

I cannot find any relationship to the COMMLOG object in the WORKLOG object that I am trying to write to and am wondering why I get an error relating to an object I am not writing to.

Any thoughts or wisdom from this group of Maximo professionals would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure why IBM created MXAPIWORKLOG and didn't flag it as query only. WORKLOG requires a parent object when adding, similar to objects like DOCLINKS. In the add method it throws the error you mentioned when the owner MBO is null. It uses the owner to default the values from the owner record like the object name & unique identifier. You need to create an object structure that has your main object (WORKORDER, SR, etc.) as the parent of the WORKLOG object to create records.

Thanks for the input,  I tried to create a new Object structure, but Maximo would not cooperate by letting me add WORKORDER (or TICKET) in the Parent field and gave me the same trouble when I attempted to add something into the Relationship field.

I just figured out that I need to:

Add the parent WORKORDER as a SOURCE object as the first record in Source Objects

Then I can add the WORKLOG as the 2nd Source Object

And then reference WORKORDER as its Parent and select the preexisting MODIFYWORKLOG Relationship 

All systems go know after I updated the MxLoader sheet accordingly
