Hi Dionne
This is what I understand from your message.
a) People are raising and completing a PO with service lines on it. They are charged to a work order.
b) They are not changing the $$$$$ on receipt.
c) You are creating a material return on the work order to 'fix' that the $$$$$ is incorrect.
d) This messes with reporting when looking at the type of charges incurred.
Huh???
I'd like to explore the root of the problem. Why are they receipting $1.00 for a service? Is the service charged per time unit or a fixed amount. How about fixing this? You could do an automation script that when a service is receipted for $1.00 that a prompt is raised that asks the user "are you sure that this receipt should be for $1.00?" Yes = carry on, No = go back and fix.
Have you looked at voiding?
Also, you state "..need to revise or completely remove...", so when is this caught?
Without knowing more, it feels that there are process gaps and re-education needed for the user causing you issues.
