    I'm getting the above error when trying to update the status on a rotating asset.  Anybody ever see this before?  I don't know why this would hinder a status change.

    Hi Mark,

    The message implies that you are trying to move the rotating asset, rather than changing the status.

    I can only think that someone has changed the information via SQL, as I cannot break it from the UI.  Can you check if the asset:

    • Is located in a storeroom, as this is the only place where a bin becomes relevant
    • The bin exists within the storeroom for the item

    What is the error code?  I cannot see an error with a similar message, but that does not mean it's not a standard message.

    What application were you changing the asset status from?

    Hi Craig, thanks so much for responding.  The only error code I get, in the log files as well, is that BMXAA0255E error.  I believe it is off the shelf.  I agree that it appears Maximo wants to move the asset, make an entry in MATRECTRANS, and is finding something missing in the FROMBIN field.  The data was originally loaded directly into the tables, not using the MIF as far as I can tell, so I'm sure there are issues.  The asset is currently in an OPERATING type location.  I'll see about matching the bin numbers up and see where that leads.  By the way, I'm using Enterprise Services to import a data update for this asset, having created the object structure, external system, etc.  I'll let you know if I figure this out, as others may have run into this at some point.  Thanks so much for your input.

    Found the issue, Craig.  Someone in the past had written an automation script that was touching the MATRECTRANS table, and that was causing the problem.  When I disable the launch point on that, the CSV data import works.  Not sure yet why they did that, but the code needs to be modified.  Thanks again for your assistance.
