There are a couple of things to consider when using the workflow functionality, and even though the process can be automated, there will still be some manual intervention. When using workflow, the developer should assign the work order to a persongroup which will automatically populate the lead with the default person in that group depending upon the time the work order is routed. I would also suggest populating the owner field with the name of the person who should perform the task. After the first task is completed with corresponding actuals, the workflow would then need to assign the work order to another persongroup hence a lead change and then populate a new owner.
This is where it gets tricky as I have not yet seen where one can route the workflow to an assigned individual based upon the craft person group that is listed on the job plan. This would be needed because, more than likely, there is only one work order workflow. The intelligence must be built into the work order based upon the job plan, so each job plan step must have an assignment for the change in craft.
One would also need to consider how work orders are being routed. Is it based upon the lead field, or is it based upon the owner field?

Subject: Maximo Workflow Designer
Does Maximo Workflow Designer help automate a process? For example, if a process has 3 tasks, Task1, Task2, Task3, to be completed respectively by three individual workers, WorkerA, WorkerB, WorkerC, will WorkerB be notified once WorkerA completes Task1-alerting WorkerB to begin working on Task2 and so on?
