    Does anyone use bar code scanners for issuing and receiving storeroom items?  We are finding issues with the receiving portion, in 7.6.1.2.

    I should have worded my inquiry differently, our users haven't been able to use their mobile devices to scan the barcodes.  Their cameras don't open and don't recognize the barcode.

    Hey Kevin,
    Got it!  I can still help with that!  You need to download a keyboard that has an embedded scanner function on each device.  There are free versions (try one of those first to make sure that solves the problem) and enterprise-wide versions (like Scannit). In the Maximo application, after hitting new row, make sure the cursor is in the item field and click the scanner icon from the keyboard-embedded scanner.  All the information on the label should fill out the record.
    Most tablets don't have embedded scanner in their OOTB keyboards.  You may have an option on your device to add the scanner to the keyboard.  That will fix the issue.

    One more thing, you need to make sure the keyboard scanner software can read your barcode type.  Most can, but always check.

    Hi Kevin,
    We use Zebra devices for all our storerooms washout any issues for Issue&Return, Transfer&Receiving  and PhysicalCount. We also tested handheld Bluetooth barcode/QR scanner with no issues. The only thing that we set about  handheld Bluetooth barcode/QR is HID (to work as keyboard)
