I guess another option that nobody suggested is that you could increase the length of the description field to the maximum allowable for that datatype.. which for Oracle would be 2000 characters. then in the application designer change the description to a multi-line text box instead of just a text ...

Instead of an automation script to do this, you could add the createsr signature option to the application and to the select action menu. Out of the box, this creates a new SR and opens it in the application, if your application is a clone of the SR application, then this should work also. ----- ...
