Hi all,

I'm wondering if any has any good advice on how to manage a job plan to create a single greasing round that covers a lot of assets across a plant please? We use a PM/JP/Route combination with the route stops configured to become work order tasks, but this leaves a very messy looking work order when the route has 35 stops on it. Because this round covers a lot of equipment the current job plan has lots of information in the long description. I've put a sample of the text from a work order below but in reality, it is 55 tasks long by the time the route stops are added as tasks. 

Does anyone have a good system for setting this up so that the technician knows what they should be doing regarding greasing, but that doesn't create unwieldy work orders such as this one? I'm wondering if we should be using the multi-asset table, is there somewhere we can store the grease quantities without needing them listed inside the JP (maybe specifications?) etc. 

If anyone has a good setup I'd be keen to hear!

20 Clean grease nipple with lint free rag  
30 Prepare to Lubricate Machine CHECK THE COLOUR CODE. ONLY GREASE RUNNING MACHINERY Acoustic greasing is the default method. Using an Acoustic Grease gun or Ultrasonic Gun carry out greasing routines using the attached procedure (filed under Reference in attached documents to this job plan). The stated amounts of lubricant are the maximum calculated in gram; when used in conjunction with the acoustic equipment lubrication should be stopped at the point detailed in the attached greasing procedure. DO NOT EXCEED CALCULATED GREASE AMOUNTS. Traditional greasing methods may be used if acoustic gear is unavailable; in this case the stated amounts should be applied. Count the number of strokes and convert this to grams using the calibration data written on the gun. Stop greasing when the set quantity has been applied. Record the quantities of grease applied at each point on this work order and if acoustic greasing any changes in sound levels noted.
40 Use Ultrasonic Grease Gun to apply grease; without exceeding recommended amount of grease to machine  
50 Apply recommended amount of grease to seals if applicable  
60 Clean excess and Check grease relief plug is clear of build up.  
70 Carry out visual inspection of the entire machine

Interested to hear what others have to say about this. We use a mobile solution, so we would either use an attachment for the details, or an Inspection form with notes to select for the detail. Either would help reduce the size of the document.
