Hi All,

Kindly share if there needs any additional steps post upgrade from 7.6.1.2 to 7.6.1.3 as I dont see Count Books application

( dont see in Application Designer (maxpresentation)  but relevant database tables , maxapps i can see entry.)

I had Transportation , Calibration , Anywhere , Scheduler which all are at supported build version for 7.6.1.3 fix pack.

If you have Transportation, you already have nearly identical functionality. Primarily what we were doing was moving the Transportation version of Count Books to core Maximo so it didn't require customers to install Transportation to utilize. The reason you don't see the new count book application inside of Maximo is because you need to have Maximo Mobile installed to get the license key to unlock the application.

@Steven Shull Thanks for your response.

I have run through different VM image without Transportation and without Mobile , in that VM with TPAE 7.6.1.3 I could find Count Books application.

Also on environment/VM where I had transportation solutions ,post upgrade to 7.6.1.3 (Attached System Help screenshot)  I could see all underlying components like DB objects ,  relationships , maxapps , maxpresentation even applicationauth to maxadmin group for Count Books application exists in DB lelvel apart from Inventory Counting (Tr) which has all different underlying PLUST coomponents ?

Do you think apart from Mobile installation are there any additional steps applicable to enable Count Books application within VM where Transportation solution exists and without installing mobile as Anywhere already exists there ?

Hi Steve,

This is exact same issue that I have faced.

Installed Maximo 7.6.0 and then upgraded to 7.6.1.3. No, add-on and no Mobile but post upgrade, can't find this application. Are there any post-upgrade manual tasks that we need to perform, as I didn't see any thing in Read Me of FP?

@Prashant Bavane The screenshot you showed has Maximo Mobile installed (we display it as Maximo Application Framework). My understanding is we exclusively ship the license key with Maximo Mobile for 7.6.1.3 customers. As you extract the zip over the Maximo install and run the pkginstall command we enable the new license key for that application.

We moved to this core in 7.6.1.3 for the new Maximo Mobile inventory counting application. In MAS you'll have access to these applications because the Maximo Mobile components are installed and enabled whether you intend to use Maximo Mobile or not. If you have MAS entitlements, even if you don't plan to use Maximo Mobile, you can install Maximo Mobile in your 7.6.1.3 environment to unlock this capability.

@Steven Shull  Thanks for your response. But it looks more confusing now since the environment I have upgraded too have Maximo Application Framework refer below screenshot but still dont see license enabled for Count Books application post upgrade to 7.6.1.3.

Do you think are there any additional steps required to enable the required license to utilize this application in Core EAM ?

Everything you need to install Maximo Mobile, including enabling the new applications, is documented in the readme.md file that we include with the zip that you extract over the Maximo install. The steps vary version by version (we have emphasized simplifying the installation experience) but a key step required for all versions is running the pkginstall command. Once you run that you need to rebuild and redeploy the EARs (license files are embedded in the EAR and that's how the data restrictions are enforced).

On 7.6.1.3 and Maximo Mobile 8.8, there's a separate step to expose the mobile inventory counting application as well. In Maximo Mobile 8.9+ we only support 7.6.1.3 right now so this step isn't required on those versions. In the tools\maximo\en\graphite\apps\ folder there is a folder called apps7613. Inside that folder is the icmobile__ver-8.8.0.0.zip. Move that zip outside of the app7613 folder and into the tools\maximo\en\graphite\apps folder with the rest of the applications. Then you need to run updatedb to load this application if you haven't done this already.

@Steven Shull  Thanks again for more details. I have tried to locate mentioned icmobile zip but its not there , do we need to download any other installables for this ?
