    Hello All,
we are in the process of Maximo Inspection Forms implementation, and I was wondering what license is needed for person who will do only inspections.
I've been searching in public documentation and was not able to find anything useful. I would be very grateful if point me link to official IBM docs.

    Thank you in advance

    Good morning, Chavdar,
I do not have a link to a publicly accessible document.  However, in v7 legacy licensing, conducting an Inspection that has been assigned to the user, falls under the definition of a Maximo Express Use User.  Inspections can be updated using the Work Order application or Conduct Inspection work center.  An Application Limited User is needed with MAS App Points.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you  Julie,
I have created a ticket to IBM about this case. Meanwhile I found in Maximo Packaging, Pricing and Licensing  Guide V14 on p.11 is stated that:
" If the Program is designated as "Express Use User", Licensee is entitled to access the IBM Maximo Asset Management program solely for the purpose of running and viewing reports, read only view of records, changing status of records and updates to Work Orders and conduct Inspections that have been assigned to the Licensee"

So you are right, I will need "Express Use User", I will also check if I can use concurrent Express Users.

Thank you once again & wish you a nice day!

Yes,  the first bullet of Section 4.4 of the guide you referenced states "the Express Use Concurrent User entitles the licensee to everything as stated above for an Express Use Authorized User".

And wishing you a nice day too!

I want to reflect on the bit about "....conduct Inspections that have been assigned to the Licensee" unlike a work order where it's relatively clear how they are assigned.  How is an inspection assigned to a user?

A simple interpretation of being assigned is "where the inspection is linked to a work order and on the work order the user is in the Lead | Owner | Owner Group | Work Group | Labor on the work plan | Labor on the assignments | ...."

But, wait. What about conducting ad-hoc inspections as these are not linked to the work order, but are raised by the user, not assigned?

IBM has never explained what "assigned" actually means BTW.
