Hello,

I am wondering if anyone knows a way for the Maximo instance as it requires the ability to receive Service Requests from external entities to internal Maximo.

Ni Gursev! Yes, it is done normally. A simple test you can do to try it yourself using MxLoader. From your MxLoader pague you should link to the MXSR object structure or some clone and you should be able to create new SRs. MxLoader is still an external system that allows you to create new SRs in Maximo.

We do not have SR creation from external systems, but we do integrate SR in Maximo with a system that send to the corresponding Maximo SR: Cartesian coordinates, images, notes, state changes (we use it for equipment installations). 

Also, I remind you that Maximo has the possibility of creating new SRs, from email listening. It also meets your premise.

You must have a mail account created (in your mail server) that will receive incoming emails. Then, in this application (Email Listener) you will create a new record associating that email account. You will give the username, password, protocol (POP or IMAP) so that Maximo processes new incoming emails as a new SR or a response to an existing SR in which case the email will be added as a commlog note in the SR (In our Company, Maximo understands that it is a response about an existing record, because we put the SR ID between ##, for example, ##SS-123456## and the process takes the email and adds it as a note of the SR number SS -123456).

This listener works in tandem with the LSNRBP workflow (in the Workflow Designer application) which processes reading the email and converts it into a new SR or add a Commlog (a COMMLOG RECORD) to an existing one. That's Maximo's standard.
