Hi @Danny Richardson!
As you will see in the image below, it is not possible to define more than a single default site. In reality, the default value for anything is always a single value.
Then, you will see that below there is a check that says "Use default insert site as a Display filter".
What this does is, when you enter an application that uses SITE, it defines the search value or it does not define it. Without defining this check, it will search all records for all sites where the user has access (in the case of the defined user, this will be BEDFORD and NASHUA).

You can, if you want, try not defining a default insert site that will do what you are looking for, but you may have problems in Maximo and get the message "A record cannot be created unless a default insert site is defined." such as when trying to create an asset. I don't recommend it.

Regards!

Thank you @Jason VenHuizen.
Default search criteria is a step in the right direction, maybe even as simple as a saved query, but they were asking because they fill out PR's for 2 sites and sometimes forget to change their Default Insert Site.
I was wondering if maybe there is a way to make PR's or Work Orders not autopopulate the Default Insert Site and allow the user to choose from their available sites?
I of course would want it to be either security group or user specific, so I'm guessing Automation Script would be the best option? Our location does not want to do any JAVA customizations because it seems to add complexity to the upgrade process from what I understand.

Hi Danny,
There are two concepts here, first the default insert site and the second is default search criteria. The short answer for the default insert site is that, no you cannot have two default insert sites since this is used when creating a record in Maximo and defines which site is set for the record.
On the other concept of search criteria, you certainly can add logic to search across multiple sites. There are a ton of different levels where you can set default search criteria and depending on how flexible you want it, it could be as simple as a default query that has the desired sites listed or as complicated as an automation script that dynamically updates the app bean query or if you really want to get specific a Java customization would allow a lot of flexibility in defining the AppBean.
I believe in the latest releases of MAS there is a new scripting capability to define Bean classes as automation scripts and I think Steven Shull wrote about it in a post, but I can't seem to find it off hand.

Hello all,
Is it possible to assign a user 2 default insert sites instead of one?
I wondered if this is possible since you can search for records in more than one site, but know that there would probably still have to be a primary site when creating a PR or Work Order.
Told someone I would check, so throwing it out there.
Thank you,
