Hi Keith,
I was the technical lead for the development of the Maximo/Workday connector from IBM. For the financial aspect, we enabled a few interfaces that can send the worktag data back to Maximo, where it creates a GL component. However, Workday does not keep a GL string like other ERP systems do. Instead, they rely on the rules they build into these worktags to derive the "natural" account where a transaction is booked to.
The integration capabilities are summarized in this site:
https://ibm.github.io/IBM-Sustainability-Software-Portfolio-Connectors/mas-workday-home/
Unfortunately, the diagrams are currently not working, but I've reported this and hopefully will be fixed soon.
Essentially, the financial setup requires you to download the worktags to the GL components, then assign combinations to Maximo objects like work orders, labor, tools, and storerooms. As Maximo generates journals, these are then sent to the WD journal import.
I'd be happy to answer any other questions you may have.
Regards,
Carlos Marin

Subject: Maximo and Workday Financial
Is anyone in the community using Maximo with Workday Financial Connector ?
We are moving to Workday and would like to discuss your experience and pitfalls.
Our big issue is understand the Workday financial structure (Drivers/Drivers Tags etc) and how this will impact Maximo.
Much Thanks
