Has anyone found a good way to move the WOGen logs into a table that can be queried?

We are looking to move to the cloud and I asked IBM if WOGen wrote tables in MAS 8 or 9 and was told no.  I am not sure how you are supposed to get the WOGen logs when it is hosted.

The MAS system can be configured so that the files can be written to a shared location e.g. NFS. This would need to be configured using a PVC.

The hosting partner would need to make the shared locaton accessible e.g. via a web page or access.

When you talk about a shared location like that and you are talking about the cloud, that now includes rights and firewalls.

I talked to IBM 5-6 years ago about this at a Maximo conference and was told it was a good idea and they would look into it.  To hear they haven't moved the logs into a table that can be queried is just another disappointment.  Scheduled reports could be sent if issues are found.

IBM seems to have only taken half measures with the cloud again.

yes I was talking about a file share on the cloud. There are several ways that the file could be accessed and some of them require additional permissions / customisations.

Did you raise an aha/idea to put the log entries in the database?

It was unlikely to have progressed without an idea.

There various factors to consider if the files are stored in the database so I am not surprised that it didn't get progressed.

I agree with raising the idea if it one doesn't exist. I have seen more success with getting things implemented int he last few years with this process than I ever did with the RFE process.

Writing to a PVC that you can then access is a great approach. It would require IBM to configure the connection but it would be very effective.

In the cloud or on premise you can use the Tools API to stream Maximo logs. It isn't a perfect system but it does give you some options. If you get the route to the cron task pods you should be able to grab the logs from there.

    Hi Brad,

If IBM is hosting your data, just apply for SFTP access through the self service portal.

This way, you can copy the logs whenever you need them

    Hope this helps
