  • 1.  MAS 9.1 - Resetting Passwords when SAML enabled

    Posted 6 days ago

Hello all.  I downloaded the export for users and tried resetting user passwords by using the import function, but it is not accepting it.  We recently enabled SAML and I'm wondering if that is causing an issue and what my options are?

    Thank you

    Hi Danny,

I am not an expert on user import in Manage; in fact, I don't think I ever got it to work in the few attempts I made. That said, user passwords when using SAML are not stored in MAS, as far as I know. The password would be set up in your IdP. The password would only be necessary if the user is LOCAL. SAML password resets would be done at the IdP level.

Is there a reason you are attempting to reset passwords?

    Thank you,

Hello Allan,  our use case is having to manage a mix of users:  some local only, some SAML.

Trying to see what's the best way to manage users in MAS.

    Thank you.

    Hi Danny,

I wonder if, for the SAML users, you would leave the password blank? Only setting the password for local users?

    Thank you,
