  • 1.  Applying Maximo Fix Pack on a non-installed/copied SMP Folder

    Posted 11-02-2023 01:05

Hi all, Need some advice regarding installation.

I have a running Maximo environment with WAS 905.13 and Maximo 7612. When I built the environment, I had installed WAS using installation manager and copied the SMP folder from another running Maximo env. Changed few properties and rebuilt/redeployed the ear and everything worked out well and using for a long time.

Now, I need to upgrade it to WAS 905.17 and Maximo 7613. I have already upgraded WebSphere to 905.17 using IM. But, I can't see Maximo installed on this server in the IM Installed Packages window becaues it was never installed. My requirement is to execute the 7613 installation on this non-installed/copied SMP folder.

What can I do to make Installation Manager to recognize the installed packages so that I can proceed with 7613 patch upgrade (and add-ons upgrade)?

I copied the IBMIMShared folder from the other environment where Maximo was properly installed hoping that it would bring the installed packages in the IM but it didn't.

    Any suggestions please.

My last option would be to install a Maximo brand new 7.6.1.3.

    Thanks.

    Hi Yogesh,

No. I had to install Maximo 7613 using installation manager.

In the Fix pack there is read me and it lists the manual steps to apply the fix packs.
    e.g for

    readme_TPAE_7613_IFIX 1.html

    Configuring the interim fix manually

To manually configure the interim fix, complete the following steps:

    Procedure

    1. To use the updateDB utility to run all of the interim fix database scripts, change directory to the <maximo-root>\tools\maximo directory, for example C:\IBM\SMP\maximo\tools\maximo and run the updateDB utility.
      • Windows: updatedb.bat
      • UNIX: ./updatedb.sh
    2. Apply the manual updates that are listed in the Manual Changes section of this readme file.
    3. Delete the application server cache folders.
      • For the Oracle WebLogic Server, delete the cache and tmp folders in the <BEA root>\user_projects\domains\mydomain\servers\AdminServer directory, for example: C:\bea923\user_projects\domains\max75domain\servers\AdminServer\cache or C:\bea923\user_projects\domains\max75domain\servers\AdminServer\tmp.
      • For the IBM WebSphere(R) Application Server, delete the cache folder in the <Websphere_root> \AppServer\profiles\Custom01\temp\<machinename>Node01\MAXIMOSERVER\MXServer directory.
    4. Delete the web browser cache on every computer that uses Maximo base services.
    5. Rebuild and redeploy the EAR files, and then restart the application server.
