Can anyone help me in enabling Navigation search field in Go To Menu, when you open Go To menu there should be a navigation search to search for modules.

    Hi,

I'm uncertain that I understand what you are asking for. Can you provide more details?

In Maximo 7.6, you have to open "Side Navigation Menu" to see the "Find Navigation Item" search field. In the Go To Menu, there is no search function for applications and modules.

    Hi Prathyusha

We're very confused.  Firstly, in Maximo 7.6 the default was to have the side navigation menu always open.  So, it must have been set to always close for you or your security group.  Next, what you're searching for is still in the same place, just open the side navigation menu.  This is why we're confused.

If we are talking about the side navigation menu, then this can still be enabled as it was in Maximo 7.6.  Follow this Enabling the side navigation menu - IBM Documentation

    Hi Beat,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I don't see that search option in side navigation menu, can you help how to enable that one.

I think we should first define the terminology.

The Go To menu that you can open by clicking on the hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) is not the same as the sidebar. The Go To menu is only visible after clicking on the icon.

The side navigation menu (sidebar) can be displayed permanently. This is controlled via a system property and can be set in the user default information, for example. See the link in Craig's answer.

Go To = No Search option

Side Navigation = Search at the top

    Prathyusha,

From the Screenshot that you have submitted, it appears that the UserID you are using is not assigned any Security Group with a "Start Center".  The Message you are receiving behind the GoTo Menu.

If none of a User's Security Groups are assigned a Start Center, they will not have the Side Navigation Menu mentioned by Craig and Beat.

Make sure that the UserID is a member of at least one Security Group that is Assigned a Start Center and then log back into Maximo.  You should then see the Side Navigation Menu on the left side of the screen where you can find the "Find Navigation Item" search (You may have to open it as mentioned by Craig).
