  • 1.  Hydraulic sequencing on Multiple Sites with different criticalities

Hi all, I can Job Plan sequence assets in PM Module against Minor Major Overhaul / Maintenance Inspections

Is there a way to Set up Hydraulic PMs dropping off various sites at different frequencies? This way the hydraulic plan remains for each required site at different intervals

    Hi Jacqui,

Let me understand this more.  Firstly, I think you're asking how to inactivate a PM after so many cycles.  Ther use cases is more like:

I have a new asset that must be serviced at 500km intervals up to 2,000 km, i.e. 4 cycles, and then become inactive as there is another PM that continues with a different frequency, i.e. every 10,000 km. The second PM can be active during the original/first PM as the meter would not have reached 10,000km.

This use case is designed into the ACM product.

The Maximo for Transportation product can activate/deactivate/complete PMs whenever that PM generates a work order, but it does not allow for doing something different "on the 4th cycle". There is a workaround.

    1. Create four PMs each having the frequency of 500, 1,000, 1,500, and 2,000 respectively
    2. Activate only the 500km PM, all others are Inactive (note not draft)
    3. Set the PM relationship on the 500km to inactivate itself, and activate the 1,000km.
    4. Set the PM relationship on the 1,000km to inactivate itself, and activate the 1,500km.
    5. Set the PM relationship on the 1,500km to inactivate itself, and activate the 2,000km.
    6. Set the PM relationship on the 2,000km to inactivate itself

Now for the ordinary, plain old Maximo you have to do something different.  You will need to create a new field to contain a value at which an escalation (you also need to create) will deactivate that PM based on the counter.  For example, you set the value to be 4, then when the counter reaches 4, that PM is set to INACTIVE.

Maximo for Aviation contains the ACM product, so the scenario is already built-in.

I hope that this helps guide you.
