Hi all, We are in process of developing a in house POC for MAS manage V8 inbound integration from SAP. Any ideas if we can integrate using web method approach leavrging REST API. How does the transformation occurs. Please advise.

In your case, would you say SAP is the Producer and Maximo is the Consumer?

When I started out the best information out there was available in Maximo blogs most IBM documentation ended up in broken links etc . Maximo has a very rugged Integration Framework. So once you understand the basics of Maximo and restart with simple tools like postman you should be able to CRUD MBO's in no time .

I had to take a Maximo SOAP message send it to another system in a different manner , I used the MiF  mechanisms and for transformation used XSL Stylesheets because my message was XML to start with .This is the reverse of what you were asking hence my question clarifying it .

in your case I would think your SAP system would spit out a message and you could direct it to an Enterprise Service and essentially either work the transformation in Maximo or SAP as the ease allows.

Do peruse the big hitters blogs ( Bruno Portaluri, Viet Tran , Alex Walter to name a few who goes out of the way helping not to mention Stephen Shull who is always helping upcoming entrants)

Maximo has automation scripts which is a misnomer as it executes on the server and is generally preferred nowadays in lieu of Java code .

I am also unsure if web methods is a new technology out there that you want to use in this context but in or out to Maximo it has several methods and a really easy to understand framework as well.
