    Hello,

I'm new to Maximo, so I apologize in advance if this is an silly question. I added a custom location lookup field on the contract lines tab of the purchase contracts application. Everything looks great and functions well until I go to do an actual location lookup to populate the field on the given line.

I'm sure it's just something easy that I'm missing, but I've scoured the internet for examples and can't really seem to find any specific examples of this use case. Maybe I'm looking for the wrong things? Like I said, I'm new so I do apologize. I've tried copying the UI properties from location fields on other applications like the PO and Work Order applications to no avail. I've finished the DB config and have the UI mapped to it properly, it's just getting the location data into the select value box that has me a bit thrown off.

Here is a list of how my field is set up in the application designer:

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide :)

Hi Brett, I think you will need to create a custom lookup based on your custom attribute. You could copy an existing Location lookup and modify it for your custom attribute.

Thanks for your advice Stevie! That was my original plan, but didn't have any luck. I'm going to keep hacking at it and see if I can figure it out.

    Hey Brett,

Have you created a table domain for this on your custom attribute? How else are you linking the data between your custom field and the existing object/table (ie. Locations) to your new lookup? You mentioned "finished the DB config" - just confirming if that step was included or not. See below:

    Cheers,

    Hi Matt,

Yes I have tried doing a table domain and referencing it in the new location field that I put on the screen. It's so odd to me because the requested by and GL account fields I put on the screen work just fine. I'm going to keep toying with it and seeing what I can some up with. Thanks so much for your help!

    Noted!

Did you also Edit the lookup map?

Could be caused by the table domain clause.

    Would look something like this?

Note that CONTRACTLINE is not SITE based so when displaying for multi-site you may need to filter location based on the site that the contract is authorized. If you are running on a single site, then this would not matter.
