We are finding the new MAS architecture to be prohibitively complex and expensive, and far beyond what we need.  As a result, we are actively looking for  a replacement product.  Anyone else is the same boat?

Any recommendations for alternative products we should look at?

Have you considered Maximo SaaS as an option to help manage costs? Is your organization using Azure or AWS for other server environments as there are options for you that are cost effective. As well there are many other benefits with the new infrastructure from an Administration and deployment perspective on time to setup and deploy new environments (ie additional Dev or Training instances) that are a matter of a couple of hours rather then days. 

Reach out to your IBM rep or an IBM Business Partner to understand the different options.

I watched a webinar yesterday where one of the discussion points was different tiers of a SaaS Maximo offering, making it more affordable to smaller businesses.  So, maybe that's an option for you.  Otherwise, finding a replacement solution would highly depend on your industry, budget, capabilities, and -- most importantly -- business requirements.  What parts of Maximo do you find useful?  What needs improvement? Which parts are useless to you? Figure out what's right for your organization -- even if it's something outside of the EAM or CMMS space -- and buy the best thing you can afford.

We too will almost certainly be leaving Maximo in the next few years, due to the increased cost, complexity, and not needing most of the additional features that are provided in return for that increased cost -- it's outgrown us.

We (a university campus) are in the same boat, and would love to explore alternatives.  I'm interested in whether there are software-agnostic consultants out there who could assist us in drafting an RFP and selecting a system.  Most of the consultants I've come across specialize in the implementation of just one (sometimes two) software solutions.

There are, usually known as Enterprise Architects.

For those sending private messages offering to save money on implementation of MAS, please don't.  If we cannot install and manage our own software, it's not worth anything to us.

For those wondering why we want to look at alternatives, not to sh!t on IBM, but the never ending cost increases, and complexity increases have pretty much broken the camels back.  From out point  of view, moving from Maximo 7.6 to Manage, gains us nothing.  Zero. Zilch. Zip.  but we do see a lot of downside to doing the move.

We do have a demo version of Manage setup and running on the Red Hat environment, but this is a lamborghini racing auto, with all the associated costs and complexity; what we need is a pickup truck.
