  • 1.  Load Failure Hierarchy to MAS 8.8

    Dear all,

May I know anyway I can upload failure hierarchy in MAS 8 via MxLoader?

Seems nextgen version doesn't support failure hierarchy, and I cannot connect legacy version to MAS.

    Many Thanks.

    Best Regards,
    Eric

    Hi Eric

I had the same issue recently, I resolved by loading the required hierarchy into a 7.6 environment using the legacy version then exporting that hierarchy with the latest version of MxLoader, this gives you the correct PARENT attribute values for the FAILURELIST object. Then load that into your MAS environment, assuming you are loading into an empty environment the first FAILURELIST value generated in the db should be 2 and this should match up with the PARENT values you exported from the 7.6 environment to maintain the same hierarchy.

I appreciate you may not have the additional 7.6 environment but that was the easiest way to resolve that I could think of. The other potential solution is an automation script on an inbound MIF FAILURELIST message which picks up the FAILURELIST id for the failurecode in the message and uses that to populate the PARENT field.

    Hope this helps, Phil

The primary problem I have identified in MAS 9 at least is that the FAILURELIST id value cannot be overridden (set as restricted and locked) and is forced to the sequence value that MAS wishes to use so you have no control over it and then that affects the PARENT values. So, you are unable to get a hierarchy to go in with fixed values.

I have reported this as a Defect with IBM Support and waiting to see what they say. Otherwise I guess it may need to be a RFE. Request for Enhancement. I also tried to use Application Export and Import and REST API and nothing will work without control on the MBO field.
