Hello,
I was wandering if budget monitoring to track purchase contract spending in terms of amount of money and/or contracted materials/services.
Any ideas are more than welcome.

Budget monitoring focal points are Locations, Assets and GL's (even down to segment level), so I suppose if you have specific GL's to examine, you could do that. 

There is still the 'View Release Costs' action per purchasing contract, assuming you are using releases, that provides a specific view of any individual contract
