Our Maximo version is v7.6.1.2.  We are considering enabling Job Plan revisioning.  We have almost 500 active job plans and there is a job plan workflow.  Are there any actions that should be performed before enabling?  I’m concerned that relationship changes may be required in applications, object structures or reports.  Any advice or warnings concerning this change would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if anyone has disabled job plan revision, were there any issues?

Jennifer,

If you decide to enable Job Plans then there is nothing more to than enabling it in the Organization settings. All the relationships are setup to account for the revision. One word of caution is that if you are doing mass changes/updates for dataloads then you may want to turn it off temporarily unless it is important to capture the revision history.

Hi to all!

Sorry. Maybe it's something that exists and I'm not aware of it because I'm ignorant. Is the revision of a job plan configured? Where is that? I would be surprised if you told me if it's possible to activate or not the revisions in job plans. If it's possible, I ask you to tell me where it's configured.

If someone asks me, I would say that the revision is specific to the JOBPLAN and cannot be activated or not, you will always need to define a revision in a jobplan and it's not something that can be "turned on or off". But if you show me, I would appreciate it so I can learn something new.

Regards!

@Martin: you can enable/disable Job Plan Revision in the Organizations application. Go to Organizations > Select the organization record you want to change the setting > open the System Settings on the Actions menu > Check / Uncheck the Revision Control for Job Plans? option.

This setting is enabled by default. I usually suggest my clients to disable it if they don't require such level of control. Make it a lot easier to edit Job Plan records. When using MXLoader to upload data, I usually turn it off too, make it easier to upload and reupload the data multiple times without having to worry about updating the revisions.
