 Difference in the numbers from Asset and asset count

Hello,  
 
I have a question in relation to Assets.  Under the main Assets application >  Assets  > I click on the Chevron,  it brings me a list of assets and the number is 9945.  When I go to Self - Service > Service Request > Create a Service Request,  I click on Assets >  I click on the Chevron,  it brings me a list of assets and the number is 9900...I would like to know as to why there is a difference and where is the data coming from assuming both methods are pointing to Asset.Assetnum...

Hi i am not sure i am wrong or right  but might be there were lookup setwhere condition might applied on th SR app.xml which pull only the ACTIVE asset and rest 45 is may be Inactive so that will not gets populated.

The Create SR application is universal i.e. it lists all assets from all sites that you have access to.

The Create SR - Asset lookup will also not show you decommissioned assets.  So, when you went into the Assets application and got 9945 assets, that is all the assets with the default insert site, assuming that you have set that as your "Use Default Insert Site as a Display Filter?" from your user profile.

Do you have access to multiple sites?

Otherwise as Vivek pointed out that there may be some data restriction going on.
