 Display an image on bulletin board

Hi,
I have a requirement to display an image on  the bulletin board. I understand that bulletin boards are for displaying messages. I have two questions:
1) do i need to add the image to the maximo image directory first and generate the url? In that case how do i generate the url?
2) i tried using an external url to display the image but i can only see the url in the bulletin board ,the image is not getting displayed?

Can anyone help me on this?

Bulletin Board has control for displaying the Image. You need to give a static URL from where image can be fetched and give Name so it can be added in body to showcase on Bulletin board.
