Hi Qianghao
Nancy is on the right line. Let's state firstly, that you have a rotating asset that has had its status set to DECOMMISSIONED and that its location is within a storeroom, and that the storeroom is reporting a balance > 0. You want that balance to be zero, simply because you have decommissioned the asset.
Let's think about it for a moment. I am a rotating asset that is no longer used, and I have left it on the shelf. I have not sold, scrapped, given it away, or sent it back to the supplier. You have just left it on the shelf. Well, that is why you have a balance in your store.
When you end-of-life a rotating asset, there are several key steps:
- If its current location is the storeroom, then you need to issue it to a SALVAGE type location. The label for the salvage location can be SOLD, SCRAPPED, EOL, or whatever you would like to call it.
- Change the asset's status to DECOMMISSION and, in the process, turn off the PM, remove it from the routes, etc.
You also need to consider if the rotating also needs to be made OBSOLETE, and if yes, then only in the storeroom, at the ORG level, or even at the item master level. You are obsoleting the item, please also check if there are any other operating/active rotating assets, as they will and should also be end-of-life unless you are replacing their current rotating item with a different or superseded item.
