It might sound childish, but without having addl info from your side I have to ask this: have you checked that the user is still Active?

There was an underlying issue with the userid.   What was displayed thru maximo front end was different to the underlying data at SQL level.   This was confirmed with SQL query against the access table.   The userid was then adjusted to suit.
