Good Morning,

We are rolling out the service request (SR) application for one type of service request (non-chargeable).

Once work control sees the SR records on the start center portlet, they click on the new SR and converts to a work order, this works well.

However on the SR application the option to move to the next/previous SR record is grayed out so work control must go back to Start Center and select the next SR record. For the moment I'm having them open a second tab.

I have exported the menus.xml file and do not see any reference to the SR menus options.

This will help work control big time if I can get this activated.

The Work Order Tracking application does have the option to next/previous records.

Why am I overlooking.

Thanks

Hi Keith,

Baed on your description I believe the Next/Previous is not showing up as the user selected the SR from the Start Centre. In that case they only selected a single record and the next/previous is a conditionally controlled to only show if there are multiple records in the List view, or if the user is on the first or the last record it will enable/disable the appropriate Next/Previous toolbar action. If the user wants to go through all the SRs that are in the Start Centre portlet then have them filter the records in the portlet (only if they need to filter to a smaller subset) and then use the 'Open Result' action on the portlet (should be the last icon on the portlet). The 'Open Result' will take the user to the application which in your case is SR then display all records in the List tab. The user can then select the SR and the Next/Previous actions will display.

Hi Keith!

There are two potential inter-related causes for this.  In order for the NEXT and PREVIOUS arrows to work, the application must have the NEXT and PREVIOUS signature options defined (Select Action > Add / Modify Signature Options) AND the logged-in user must belong to a security group to which the NEXT and PREVIOUS options have been granted.

So, I would first check to be sure that NEXT and PREVIOUS are defined as signature options (if not, you can add them as they are standard and the application bean will know how to process the correlated events), and then ensure that the user(s) have the security grants.

Best wishes,

Jade

Good Morning,

Thanks for the suggestion, Jade. That is good information.

Michael, I just figured out yesterday that was more than likely the issue. The user is coming from the Start Center, however once you are in List service request you can use the Next/Previous buttons.

Thanks all for your suggestions.

Sometimes I have found that something goes wrong when the application is created and the NEXT / PREVIOUS toolbar icons don't work on tabs other than the list tab.

I have found you can fix this by deleting the NEXT and PREVIOUS signature options.

Then save the application and re-create them.

Also remember to add permission for them in the appropriate security groups.

This fix worked for me.
