I was never aware of this until the last few buyers they hired were checking boxes that were not supposed to be checked in our PO application. If you click the mouse and you are on the far side of the container(left) and horizontally aligned, the box will be checked. If you are on the left side and click the box is not checked.
Been supporting Maximo since 2009 and this is the first time it has come up. 7.6.1.1-IFIX20200124-1352
I believe this intended functionality. I checked a few different version of Maximo most newer and it is working exactly as you described.

In all seriousness, I sometimes rely on that because I'm having trouble hitting dead center in the checkboxes and when I hover, sometimes I get a little highlight for the hitbox that lets me know I can activate the control. Doesn't always work.
