Our organization is in the process of implementing the "Submit a Service Request"  Work Center.  When you go to add a new Service Request you drill down by clicking on "bubbles"  (i.e. Classifications)  It then takes you to a Describe the Issue page.  The Description/Summary field gets pre-populated with the chosen classification description.  We don't want the field to be pre-populated.  It doesn't look like there is anyway to configure the system so it doesn't function that way.  Has anyone attempted customizing work centers?  I've gone down the rabbit hole of looking at the files under the maximo-x directory but these screens are very complex wizard, step-by-step pages.  It uses javascript to pass the data between each step.

Does anyone know what technology this is using?  Is there a way to open this up in an IDE?

Thanks,

The legacy work centers are not easily customizable and don't have a supported process to persist your changes on updates. It can be done but I wouldn't recommend it because it'd be a short-lived customization.

We've replaced this work center in MAS with our SRMOBILE application built on our Maximo Application Framework, sometimes referred to as graphite. While we built this specific app for Mobile, it's available in the web in addition to Maximo Mobile. Our Maximo Application Framework is the framework all of our new role-based applications and Mobile applications are built on. It provides a way for customers to configure the out of the box applications in a supported way. The application is mostly defined in a XML file with the customer able to write vanilla JavaScript for certain configuration requirements. We have a configuration tool built on docker that simplifies some of the configuration and validation. We plan to continue to enhance it with the hopes of getting an application designer like drag & drop experience in the future. We're not there yet but it's still significantly easier to modify than our legacy work centers.

@Steven Shull  that's what I was afraid of.  We will eventually be going to MAS but probably not for a few years.  I guess we'll just have to live with the way it works
