Looking at your screenshot and the CSV data, it’s pretty clear something went wrong between January 26 and February 4:
  • 1/26/26: Reading was 58.
  • 2/4/26: Reading jumped to 405 (a Delta of 347 hours over 9 days).
  • 2/9/26: Reading is 509.8 (a Delta of 104.8 hours over 5 days).
A jump of 347 hours in just 9 days works out to about 38.5 hours of runtime per day — which obviously isn’t possible. My best guess is that whoever entered the data missed a decimal point (e.g., they meant to type 40.5 but entered 405, and 50.9 became 509.8).
There's also some weirdness on 1/19/26 — the meter was reset to 0, then a reading of 57.3 was entered right away, which created an immediate delta of 57.3.

In your second screenshot, you’re trying to enter a new Actual reading of 450.
Because "HOURS" is a continuous meter, the system calculates the difference (delta) between your new reading and the last recorded reading. Since 450 is less than the last recorded reading of 509.8, the system will try to calculate a negative delta. Unless the meter is set up to roll over at a specific point, Maximo will throw an error, preventing you from entering a lower number.

Unfortunately, you can’t just enter a new reading from the standard "Enter Meter Readings" dialog and call it a day. You’ll need to go back and edit the historical log directly.
  1. Open the Assets application and navigate to asset 339-0040.
  2. From the Select Action menu on the left side (or the top navigation bar, depending on your version), select Manage Meter Reading History.
  3. Click on the Continuous Meter Readings tab.
  4. Locate the erroneous rows from 2/4/26 (405) and 2/9/26 (509.8).
  5. You have two options here:
    • If you know the correct readings (e.g., they should have been 40.5 and 50.98), you can enter the correct numbers in the Modified Reading column. Provide a brief note in the Reason field (e.g., "Correcting missed decimal point").
    • Delete: If the readings are completely off and you’d rather just remove them, mark the rows for deletion — there’s usually a trash can icon at the end of each row.
  6. Click OK to save your changes.
Once those bad entries are corrected or removed, the system's "Current Reading" will update automatically, and you should be able to enter today's actual reading without any issues.
