Are you currently involved in the offline data design in mobile for Maximo? Consider the following points and apply it as applicable per your scenarios

• When it comes to offline data downloads there is a common thinking more is better. This is not true.
• Offline data download is not about just volume rather what is really required at the field by a technician.
• Where possible, be contextual in the data downloads and presentation to the technicians.
• Remember the human factor in play while overwhelmed with the technology. At last, it is a human brain that has to process the information presented and take decisions accordingly.
• Enable the use of quick search options using QR codes, Beacons, NFC, RFID etc. when the technicians have to deal with extensive data.
• Don't get stuck into one-off scenarios first. Focus on the offline data requirements for business critical and common use cases first and then attempt other scenarios.
• Involve end users who will actually use the app in the field at all stages. Hearing them will solve a lot of problems later in the roll out.
