Associating Multiple Failure Classes to an Asset and Restricting Failure Codes in SRs

  • 1.  Associating Multiple Failure Classes to an Asset and Restricting Failure Codes in SRs

    Hi everyone,

I'd like to start a discussion on how we can associate multiple Failure Classes to a single Asset in IBM Maximo 7.6.3, and then restrict the failure codes that users can select when generating a Service Request (SR) against that asset.

The goal is to ensure that only the relevant failure codes appear during SR creation, based on the asset's assigned failure classes. Has anyone implemented a similar setup or found a workaround, perhaps through automation scripts, conditional UI, or configuration at the classification or asset level?

Appreciate any ideas, feedback, or best practices you can share!

    Best regards,

    Dave
