Anyone have any ideas on how to install the actual font to the MAS environment?

This is about all the info I can find, but it does not address getting the actual font file into MAS.

If you can use Code 39 (rather than something like code 128 which can support more characters but requires Java to encode), there is now an embedded font in the image that I would use. They addressed it as part of this defect https://www.ibm.com/mysupport/s/defect/aCIKe000000XoAR/dt417477?language=en so I would make sure you have this patch installed and then try to use the Free 3 of 9 Extended font. 

There used to be a page that covered how to add your own custom fonts (excluding the java code required to encode other fonts) here: Barcode Fonts Configuration Support in Maximo Application but it's empty now (the actual instructions are gone).

If you want to print actual barcoded labels you might want to check out Naviam's Zebra Label solution.  It is free and open source and comes prebundled as a customization archive, which makes it easy to deploy.

If you are running MAS with a cloud provider there is also a paid component to enable local printing from cloud instances without having to open a firewall or change rules.
