Hello Everyone,

I am looking for information on Maximo 7.6 on Maintaining Status and Populating Fields.

 What I am looking for is if there is a automated way to :

to populate the Field ID 
to populate the Domain ID for all Value Lists 
whether we can manage status for domain values (i.e. if a value is no longer required, is there a status we can use to remove it from regular viewing) 
to investigate whether we can manage relationships between domains and each of those domains to have status' like the above bullet

to find out what the value number is for a Domain ID

On first look at your request, I was and still am confused.  So, let's answer what I can.

DOMAIN ID

The domain ID is something that you create, so it makes sense later on or when doing reports.  The way that I read your request is "can I have the Domain ID automatically populated when I create a new domain?"  Answer=yes.  You can apply an autokey or auto number to the Domain ID field, though I don't recommend it.

Can you "disable a value in a domain?

Answer=errr....no.  At least without adding a conditional expression.  Typically you have to remove the value from the domain, but this does not remove the value where its already been used.

There is some value is what you are asking, but it's never been an issue in my 25+ years of Maximo.  I would recommend you raise an IBM Idea.

I will clarify my questions so that this way it is easier to understand:

1) is there a way to find out what the DomainID for a field (what the value is)

2) is there a way to maintain the relationships between domains and also find out what the value is for that relationship

3) is there a way to populate the DomainID for all Value lists?
