    Hello Experts,

We are working on upgrading Maximo EAM 7.6.1.2 to Maximo MAS 8.11.

Manage is activated and updatedb also shown as successful.

Very excited to login manage and view :), but

    1) Manage is still shown as locked for MAS SuperUser/Administrator

    2) Maxadmin is shown as synced successfully but cant login with 7.6 Password.

    3) For other user synced from 7.6, password reset is done but shows sync error BMXAA6032E - You cannot set field DISPLAYNAME because you would not have access to this field because of the data security restriction setting.

    4) Tried creating new user from MAS Core, again error BMXAA6032E in usersync pod

    Please suggest.

    Sandy,

A few comments suggestions for your points:

    1. The MAS Super User is not synched to Manage out of the box.
    2. This is assuming you are using Local which is the default. Try to reset the maxadmin password in the MAS Admin Users page. If the Synch fails, there will be an error indicator and an information hover (similar to Maximo/Manage) that will display the reason for the error. I seen this recently with an install of Manage where we upgarded Maximo 7.6.1.3 and Maximo O&G, and although we selected the O&G install from the MASCLI (This is what we used to install MAS/Manage) the O&G Industry solution did not install. We had to install it from the MAS Manage Administration and once we did this users synched without issue.
    3. Based on the error it looks like you may have a data restriction in your Maximo 7.6 that is preventing you from adding new users.
    4. See comment in #2 and verify that you installed any industry solutions or add-ons that you had in V7.6.1.2.

One other last comment. MAS V9 is out as of June 25th and I strongly encourage you to upgrade to this version (once you get connected). Upgrade to V9 won't fix yoru problem, but it will at least get you on a supported version that has a 3 year lifecycle and you are still early in the process to make the switch now and save yourself time later with testing and any configurations you may need to do.

    Mike

    Hey Mike,

Thanks for your detailed response. Appreciated.

Basically there was GDR blocking this sync. Updated from backend followed by restart. User synced now.
