To The MORE Community,
We are looking at using the Inventory Usage application to transfer inventory between the various organizations we have configured. These organizations all share the same item set, and our current version of Maximo is 7.6.1.2.
The process seems fairly straight forward, but when I try to select a storeroom in one of our other organizations as the To Storeroom for the transfer, I get a BMXAA4163E message stating that the specified value I selected exceeds the maximum field length for the To Location field. The field help for this field indicates it is the INVUSELINE.TOSTORELOC field. When I checked that field in the Database Configuration application, its field length is 24, and the length of the value I'm trying to select is 9, so I'm not sure what is causing this error.
To add to my confusion, I have a storeroom with the same name in another organization that I can select and not get the above error.
I was told this error might related to differences in the length of the GL account numbers between the organization, but all three organizations I've tried have different lengths for their GL accounts.
If someone might be able to give some information as to why I am getting this error, I would greatly appreciate it.
Also, I don't want this thread to get too involved, but there is one other thing in this process that I wanted to ask about.
When I am able to successfully select the storeroom in another organization, the GL debit account field for my transfer item does not get populated. I was under the impression that the clearing account field in the from organization record would be used for this, but the value we have configured for the from organization does not populate into this field. Also, if I try to manually enter that GL account, I am unable to.
If someone would let me know what GL account should be populated into this field, I would appreciate it.
As I've said before, any help that could be given related to these error, and to this process in general, to allow me to complete this process, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jim
