I can't understand your request well.
When you create a template, you do it from the "Communication templates" application.
You create the new template and the most important thing is to define what object you are going to use them for and there you must define "SR".
Then, you define view the HTML code and you will be able to define your code.
When you are in an SR, with the "Create communication" option you can test it to see how it looks.
