Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with the meter-based PMs configuration. According to the documentation I've found on the internet, the units to go should be calculated even if only the options "Generate Work Order Based on Meter Readings (Do Not Estimate)?" and "Generate Work Order When Meter Frequency is Reached?" are activated. But it's not happening.

It only happens if the option "Use Last Work Order's Start Date to Calculate Next Due Date?" is also activated.

Is this the expected behavior, because according to the following screen capture from Maximosecrets, it is not.

I don't know if I'm missing a configuration in the meter or somewhere else. Because if I register any new measure in the meter, even if it's less than the frequency set in the PM, it creates a new work order, and in some cases, it generates more than one.

I hope someone could help me with this. ðŸ˜¸

Hi Axel,

I saw your post regarding the meter-based PMs and have a few troubleshooting steps that might help resolve the behavior you are seeing:

  • Check the PM Baseline: I recommend reviewing the PM's Frequency tab and comparing the "Next Due Meter Reading" against the asset's current meter reading. If the next due reading is lower, the system will keep generating WOs prematurely, and the baseline will need to be reset.

  • Verify the Meter Type: Double-check that the meter attached to the asset is set to Continuous. For these automatic updates to function properly, it cannot be a Gauge or Characteristic meter.

  • Review Work Order Statuses: Make sure your technicians are actively completing and closing out the previously generated Work Orders. If older WOs are left open, Maximo lacks the anchor point needed to calculate the next cycle.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction!
