Looking for information on reservations being created (or not) from a Job Plan task that has materials assigned.

We are using Maximo EAM 7.1.6.2

- I have added two inventory items (one to a task and one with no task) to one of our job plans; both are marked as direct issue items. The item on the task has sufficient quantity in the storeroom to satisfy the need. The other has zero quantity in inventory.

- When the work order is created the planned materials show up as expected.

- When the Work Order status is changed to APPR it automatically goes to WMALT as expected.

- At this point I would expect to see a reservation for the item in stock with sufficient quantities but do not

- When the inventory reorder is run for Direct issue items/service a PR is created for BOTH items when I expected only the item with zero inventory quantity to be ordered.

Not sure if I am missing something in the process, if I missed a setup requirement, if Maximo is configured or needs to be configured to allow the reservation to be created, or if this is the expected behavior. Any information or advice would be appreciated!

Hi @Jeffery Murray!

But if you mark them with "Direct issue items" they are not requested to the store because they are to request a direct purchase and you don't have to reserve anything because it doesn't impact the stock.

Do the following test. Configure a material in the jobplan and define a store (in the "Material" tab of the jobplan"). Save and then, check "Direct issue" and you will see that the store disappears... that is because that material is not requested from the store if not to create a purchase requisition.
Do exactly the same test but remove the check "Direct issue".
Regards!

Thank You Martin! That did not even occur to me and makes all the difference.
